In the vein of the previous collections, HEPHAISTOS evokes the mythology associated to the eponymous antic greek divinity and one of it’s contemporary nymphs, the volcanologist Katia Krafft. HEPHAISTOS is dedicated to Katia and all the modern mythologies she created, to her passion, and her freedom. The collection focusses on the perpetual movement of lava and the intense profusion of its mesmerizing colors. HEPHAISTOS is a capsule collection realized in collaboration with the graphic designer Loris Pernoux. He imagined a lettering as high as a width of fabric necessary to produce the prints of the collection. The lettering takes up the word Héphaïstos and its design is as if sinked, forged and assembled in the still hot material of a moving lava. A formal encounter is thus created between the drapes of the pieces of the collection, the shapes of its print and the treatment of its colorization. Printing on silk crepe and dye-sublimation on optical white lycra.
